Graham Russell is a co-founder of Rights Action, he speaks with Latin Waves host Sylvia Richardson about the Honduras’ election held on November 24, 2013. Candidate Xiomara Castro, has rejected the official election results and denounced the process as fraudulent. Castro is the wife of former president Manuel Zelaya, who was ousted in a U.S.-backed military coup in 2009. Hondurans have denounced the “stolen elections” as another chapter of the 2009 military coup. Graham Russel speaks of the wave of terror leading to the election, the links to mining interest and government militarization of the streets and the ongoing struggle for Democracy.
