Hahnel on the shut down of the US government

robinF Robin Hahnel is a Professor of Economics at Portland State University. He is best known for his work on participatory economics with Z Magazine editor Michael Albert. Hahnel is a radical economist and political activist, his most recent book is “Of the People, By the People The case for a participatory economy”

He speaks to Sylvia about the shut down of the US government and the precarious political gamesmanship that’s going on and how this ongoing political deadlock creates a scenario where the US economy cannot recover. More importantly he speaks to how this never ending manufactured political crisis keeps the national conversation focused on debt reduction and austerity which is counterproductive. (Order Book)
